Ok when I was a kid I had a game were both player one and player two controlled cannons and had to choose range and hight of there shot. Each player took a turn until one had a direct hit on the other. (NO not Battle Ship) :) Any ideas? I lost almost every atari 2600 game I had in a move quite a few years ago :( Thanks for any help.

There was (is) a PC game called Scorched Earth that was like that... Not sure of the name of any 2600 game that fits the description.

were they shooting at each other?
or were they shooting at planes?
(air sea battle)

Scourched Earth from what I found is kinda like Atari's Combat only with better graphics.....
Baron,
Are you driving tanks in that game?
if so your answer is Combat

It sounds more like that banana tossing game on old PC's. In that game you took turns by setting an angle and then tossing it. If you missed it was the other guys turn.

Sounds kida like Bowman, this SWF game that I found somewhere (I don't remember where) here, download the attached TXT file and rename it to .swf

Err... no. Combat didn't have turns, didn't have power controls, and only debatably had trajectory controls.
The ONLY 2600 game I know where players "controlled cannons and had to choose range and hight of there shot" was Human Cannonball.
But you didn't shoot at each other in that game.
You shot a human into a tank of water(if your projectile was lucky and you weren't on a sick "bounce him off the wall" kick).

Well ty so far but no it isn't any of those. One more detail it was a double sided game I believe. It might have been paired with Chuck Norus or Robin Hood I believe. It was one of the only two sided or double game packs I had. I know combat well and this game was nothing like that. Again ty for the help so far.

Its call ARTILLERY DUAL
Found it in my stack of manuals
-
Nice TY very much also for Lancelot another good game on the other end of the other pack I couldn't remember!
-
I wish you hadn't found it. I was going to say I thought I remembered a game called Artillery (didn't remember the duel part) and would have felt cooler than everyone else. :'(

Aaarrrrgh! When I fist saw your post last night I decided to just go through my list of atari 2600 roms and try out anything that sounded like it might be what you're talking about. Well, I actually oppened up Artillery Dual but I couldn't get it to work so I passed over it. :-\ Oh well, it's not like we win anything... :P

Ahhh... A Xonox double-ender.
No wonder I couldn't place it.
Way to shoot for the obscure.
