Title: VGA & S-Video can you connect both?
Post by: Taborious on July 28, 2005, 04:51:03 pm
Can you have the S-video and VGA connected to a video card? Does it output to both or do you have to switch between the two somehow?

Well I can do that with my laptop computer and my pc. It all depends on the video card drivers I suppose. Get the latest drivers for the video card and give it a shot.

I have 2 cards (ati) both will do this. in 2 differant ways.
clone desk top. = both screens are the same ( this was very handy when I 1st built my cabs) cab #1 was horizontal cab #2 was vert. 1 pc. in mame I tab the vertical games to flip and work on that CP and horizontal to play on tv.
just do a side step and play what you wanted.

extend desk top you have 1 desk top extended on 2 screens. I found this hard to work with. Others seem to like it.

If your TV has composit out like mine has you can have 3 screens or like the card in this pc I have 2 VGA and 1 s-vid , I had to try it just to test and all 3 work at 1 time

Nice Daywane, I'll give mine a shot. Looking to get a 2 port KVM because I have 2 PC, my play PC games and MAME PC in Cab. This will help a lot for config changes and tweaking.

My older ATI card will do it....surprised me when I found that out...pleasant surprise, since when setting up my machine, it is sort of hard to read some of the print on my 27" TV.
