Title: Help for a Nanao MS8 26SU

Hi monitor Guru's,

 

I found a Virtua Fighter cabinet with a Nanao MS8 26SU monitor, which doesn't seem to power up as I don't hear any HV sound and nothing lights up. I only cheched the power cord and it delivers the right 120v :) a good begining.

I have a few noobish questions to ask first: 

does the monitor require the two red degaussing coil wires to be connected to boot up?

Does the monitor require the video signal to be connected to boot? Please don't ask me to connect them for the moment as the first connector is missing (degaussing) and the video board still needs to be fixed (one thing at the moment).

 

I began to get documented, found the monitor schematic, readed books about monitor repair but I still feel I'm nowhere.

Can someone tell me where I can find B+ and also give me basic explanations.

I would greatly appreciate your help.

Jomac seems to be the defacto expert on the nanao monitors--I've gone to him for help before and he was a godsend...

Yes I saw him at work on the startechjournal's forum but couldn't post my question there as I haven't 50 bucks  :o to spend for posting on the forum. Thanks for the link!

I guess somoene else could answe my first two questions... ::)

Answer: No, not needed for monitor to operate

Question: Does the monitor require the video signal to be connected to boot?

Answer: No, the monitor will run without an input signal. You will have High Voltage whine and the heaters in the neck board will glow orange (faint and hard to see in daylight)

Can you please forward me what you found for the schematic.

I actualy built these for Eizo Nanao Usa and have since lost all that info?? If it had the factory location as MWF we built it.

Long time and lots of water under the bridge, but the schematic may sparl some meomories to help.

Jomac did send me schematics of MS826s, but it is not switch mode and unless I am mstaking in for the MS9 the MS826SU was switch mode???
