I searched the threads, but could not find HELP for this.....
I purchased a USB 3" trackball with three buttons. I have the trackball working with Windows 98SE, but I'm not sure how to tell MAME that I now have a trackball for certain games (i.e. Centipede or Missle Command).
Also, since the trackball and 3 buttons are all connected via USB, is it possible to program those three bottons for ANY of the buttons in the MAME set-up (i.e. have one of them be the fire button in Galaga, even though I'm not using the trackball for that game.) ???
Thanks for the help!!

Set the "Mouse" setting under "### Input device options ###" in your mame.ini file to 1. This will tell mame that you want to use your Mouse (ie trackball) where applicable. Not sure on the second question.

those 3 buttons are considered mouse buttons...so you'd just have to map (for instance) your galaga fire button to mouse button 1
i would assume

yup.
Just hit tab during gameplay and set up the buttons as you wish.
