Title: new mame?
Post by: deadmoney5 on July 25, 2005, 10:16:19 pm
Currently I am running Mame .87

I have an Athlon XP 2000+ (1.66 GHz)

Would I benefit from getting Mame.98?

Would Cruisin' work now on my machine?

Or should I just keep what I have....I would probably have to upgrade to newer roms, too

newer versions of games usually make games slower... not faster.

There was a "fix" to Cruisin recently that made it a bit more playable, but you won't be playing it on a 2000+... no way, no how.

Unless there is a new game in the latest few versions of MAME, I'd say there's no good reason for the upgrade.

I just upgraded from 0.92 to 0.98, but haven't had chance to play much yet.

Boogie Wings caught my eye as a pretty fun game tho :)
