Title: WTB: sanwa flash joysticks. will trade cnc work
Post by: muell67 on July 23, 2005, 06:41:53 pm
I know there discontinued but does anyone know where I can get or have for sale sanwa flash joysticks. I need two, and I would preffer new but Ill probably take what I can get.

since no one seems to be willing to sell these I thought I would try to trade for the only somewhat unique arcade related thing I have. I am a draftsman/engineer & cnc programmer at a large commercial cabinet company. I am the only programmer of a 200k cnc router I can cut any cabinet design imaginable to exact specs. I see alot of people building cabinets with small 1" cleats With a cnc router I can cut plows (dados) into the sides so everything will fit together with notches then you just screw from the outside & laminate or bondo over the screws. This gives the strongest joint and is required for premium grade cabinetry in the awi standards. I can route designs into the side of cabinets also and cut any curve. If it can be drawn in autocad I can cut it. My only limitaions is that it is a 3 axis router and the smallest available bit is a 1/8" dia.  So If you have a sanwa flash and would like a custom cabinet I can cut it for you including material and drafting all I need is a sketch.

I just tried one and I really want them for my cabinet. Im willing to pay $100 ea. for new sticks. Its my understanding that this is the high end of the current pricing for these.

Have any of you guys tried asking Byrdo (http://www.byrdo.org) if he'd be willing to sell any?

I sent him a message on saturday no response yet. I considered buying a couple of joysticks from him and replacing them w/ regular sanwa's and reselling.

well. . . to me yes cos I detest US style sticks (sorry folks  :-\ ) but alot of peoples love the P360's.
funny thing is, the P360's are s'posedly the same parts as the sanwa's optical doodah anyways, I guess its down to taste. i wouldn't sell my Flash sticks ever and if I could get more, i'd stockpile em  ;D

I've used a Sanwa joystick before, just never heard of the Flash.  I'd like to see if they are really any different than a P360, but don't think I'll buy one just to find out heh.
