Title: sanwa joysticks
Post by: muell67 on July 23, 2005, 10:38:23 am: im looking for different options for joysticks for my candy cab. Ive been looking at the sanwa and noticed they have these http://www.himuragames.com/store_joysticks.php wich I guess are regular joysticks and then they have sanwa flash joysticks. Does anyone know what the difference is? Does anyone have any other recomendations on japanese style joysticks?

I've never used one (or even seen one in person - obviously), but they're quite expensive, so that means they must be great, right?

The few people I've ever read that have tried them seemed impressed, but I've never read a detailed review of one.

I just picked up a Jaleco sitdown that doesn't have enough space vertically in the CP to mount anything except that style of stick.

If anyone knows where I can get the sanwa flash joystick please let me know. I emailed Himurgames but they dont show it on there website.

Has anyone used the octagonal Sanwa restrictors?

I'm wondering if they would give the stick a more round feel, or will they make the diagonals almost impossible to hit.

I play no fighters at all, so I'm looking at them mostly for scrolling shooters, and don't care for the Seimitsus I have because they are too square for me.

I really like my Wicos for most games, but can't fit them in the new cab without some SERIOUS modifications.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the Korean sticks I mentioned are supposed to be round and are low profile.

The one that is listed as Round on the pictures looks like it is about 1" deeper than the Sanwa, which I think is about the same depth as the Seimitsus I've got.

I don't know if I've got that kind of room, and would prefer a ball-top, so I guess I'll try the octagaonally restricted Sanwas.
From the sounds of it, they may be the best compromise for me.

I couldnt find any, but I did find a post saying the flash parts say p360 on them. is there a way to make a microswitch sanwa into a flash using p360 parts. I have extra p360's laying around but I cant even find a pic of the bottom of a sanwa flash so this may be a rediculous idea but does anyone know if this is swappable? Like I said Ive never seen a flash so dont laugh.
