Title: Another GUN (maybe)

Anybody know if this will work with mame? I do not like the Looks of the ACt-Labs (but iguess when it comes down to it, who cares if it works), just interested if anybody had tried any other light guns besides the Act-Labs one?

I guess there's no way to be sure without trying it, but if the gun acts like a mouse (the way the Act-Labs one does), my gut would tell me that it would work just fine in MAME.  I guess you could order one, try it, and if it doesn't work, return it (depending on the return policy, of course).

It's a cool looking gun, that's for sure.

How do you buy it? How much does it cost?

Because its only USB there is better chance of it working. The gun that I bought that come with HOTD and virtua cop was ps2 and joystick and VGA bypass. So you had to plug in all 3. It does not work in mame, at least not enough to be useable.

Unless driver-wise it's almost exactly like the actlabs gun then it's doubtful it will work. The orignal act-labs gun from a few years back would work for mame. As a matter of fact the curent gun is the only known gun to have ever worked in mame with any degree of accuracy.

If somebody has some money to burn it might be worth it to make sure though.  ;)

I was able to get it to work in MAME...  (the pc auto mag)... it was about as accurate as the act-labs (which isn't really saying much) gun...

When I get my courage up I'll try dueling ones with analog mame+ and  see how that goes (PC Auto mag AND Act labs USB)

PS eightbit... how was the accuracy of your gun with HOTD? I'm more dissapointed wit the way the included games play than MAME ...

PSS it worked in MAME as a "mouse" - not using the light gun driver...
