I've added a kickplate to my cab using some "Checkered Plate on a roll". Took me ages to find as I was originally searching for "Diamond Plate" which appears to be an "Americanism" :)
Anyway, this stuff can be cut with normal scissors but don't let that put you off - its pretty strong and looks amazing.

Pretty cheap too. I've got loads left so I will be covering the door below the CP where the coin door is mounted.

check out B&Q as well UK byoacers. They have sheets of various sizes and designs. Will be using some on my pedestal.

How can you call diamond plate an Americanism. How do you now checkered plate isn't a British-ism? :)
I mean look at the raised portion. Are they diamond or checkerboard. :)

Sorry - couldn't resist !
AlanS17 - Is it Check or Cheque ? - lol !
Didn't realise you could get it from the common UK DIY stores - the ones in Leeds deffo didn't have any when I looked but seeing as I was looking for Diamond Plate then maybe I was looking in the wrong place (should have been on another continent !).

It's very simple - check is a verb. Cheque is a noun.
-
check is a verb as in "I'm going to check you into the boards before taking a slapshot" :)
-
It's both a noun and a verb.
