Title: CP artwork
Post by: lesserChance on July 20, 2005, 04:03:49 pm
What material does everyone print thier CP artwork on?  I had a local printer print it out on a vinyl material, and I think it turned out horrible.  Do you use glossy?  Does everyone just go to kinkos? are they reliable/cheap?

I would DEFINITELY recommend www.mamemarquees.com

the guy is a BYOAC member, he does GREAT work and is very good with the personal communication to get your project just right.

the material he prints on is an adhesive backed laminated vinyl.  I think the laminate stuff is called polycarboinate. it is not shiny and has a nice, slightly textured feel.  it is extremely durable and very easy to work with.

I had mine printed on sticky backed polypropylene in a mat finish.

It looked good, but looked a whole lot better when it was eventually covered with Lexan which gave it a nice shine.

I had two printed and could therefore afford to be a little rougher with the extra print (which I used as a template). This copy was easily marked which confirmed it really needs the Lexan to protect the finish.

ouch, 70 bucks for my CP is a bit much, I just paid 15 for it locally.  I think Ill have to go with slightly less quality this time around.  thanks for the info though.
