Nobody, Mila Kunis threw him out a window, drove him off a cliff, then burned him to ashes in a ravine.

Shame to see him go.

Ironic, too, that it happens on the anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.

I got 3 autographed photos of doohan on ebay an hour after I heard of his death. Got them for $40 each. Probably worth much more now. I also have a THG cast photo I had signed by almost everyone except Stewart and Wheaton at a convention a few months ago

Indeed. This one is already up to 1 cent with 5 hours left.

Who is Admiral Cartwright?  This one I don't even know.

I started to say in the other Star Trek thread, but thought better of it and decided to post it in this one where it's supposed to go.. lol

Brock played Admiral Cartwright in both ST IV: The Voyage Home (the one with the whales....   quote from movie "Get him back!! Get him back!!") and ST VI: The Undiscovered Country...

Brock then went on to play Ben Sisko's father in several DS9 episodes....

That is where I recognized him from.

Gonna bump the thread.. we lost another one...

Robert Wise, who directed Star Trek: The Motion Picture (and basically revived the series from obscurity in 1979) died Wednesday of heart failure at 91.  He's also the director for the popular musical "The Sound of Music".....

I love The Day The Earth Stood Still.  I cried for half an hour when I saw the scene where the alien comes out of his ship to be confronted by military (that's not a spoiler).

I was 6, but I still cried for half an hour.

I just watched it maybe a month ago on TCM. It's still as good as it was when I was a kid.

Doohan's cremated remains will be packed into a special tube that is ejected from the rocket...

That's so cool. One can only hope that this tube is shaped like a photon torpedo.
