Anyone?
-
Older versions (0.97 and before, IIRC) have an 'About' option in the main menu which will tell you the version.
New versions should say the version no. in the \ini\*.ini files.
You can also hover over the exe file in explorer, and it should display the version no., although in Microsofts numbering format (which I kindof ignore) - eg it might say v1.6.1.0 or something which I call v1.61.
Confused!? ;D

Ok I have version 1.5.0.0 acording to the hover-over trick. My question is, I would like to now update to the latest version. How should I do this, and what pitfalls should I watch out for? Thanks in advance!!!

You can download the latest mamewah1.61 from mameworld.net

Yea I know where to get it, I just don't know if the upgrade will go smoothly...can anyone tell me?
-
Well it's been a while...I *think* for the most part you should be OK, but then again you will likely have to enter the new 'commandline_format' settings for each emulator (you don't have this setting in v1.5 right?)
Best thing to do is download v1.61, and read the \docs\ini.txt file - have a look what's changed. I think the part I mentioned above will be the only major thing. John Crouse's website has examples for millions (nearly) of emulators if you need a guide - a link is at the 'help' page of my site.

Ok thanks. I like to try and keep updated, so I will likely do this upgrade this weekend. Thanks again.

Wow..commandline_format looks confusing to me (guess I should have stayed on top of this stuff!). Where is a link to Crouse's site? Thanks!
