Title: wow what a weekend :)
Post by: rchadd on July 19, 2005, 08:42:33 am
Boyed by success i am currently having with my centipede cabinet restoration project ( http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=36900.0 ) I jumped when a working cabaret gorf cabinet (with extra board set) came up for sale on UKVAC email thread on thursday and agreed to buy for 300 GBP. on going down to kent to pick it up found that sound was not working (finally diagnosed as blown fuse) so seller let me have it for 200 quid :)

Then on friday ebay saw guy advertising classic machines for sale down in devon, a few emails later i have negotiated a fullsize gorf, namco galaxian and sega/gremlin frogger machine for bulk deal of 600 quid :) In the end he also threw in a load of extras such as:

roll of green and roll of black leather effect tmoulding, jamma psus, galaga repro bezel, nos pacman cpo, and also 2 snk ikari warrior joysticks!

a pretty good result this weekend albeit that i spent most of saturday driving around south of england. also it was lucky my brother-in-law came to transport the machines back home in my sisters horsebox! pity they didnt clean it out before though

Sweet! Good luck with the Gorf. That's one of my all time favorites.

Hey there's something really odd about your Frogger. I have NEVER seen one with that kind of coin door, and especially with that bottom coin bucket door.

They usually look like this: http://images.webmagic.com/klov.com/images/F/cFrogger.jpg

I wonder what the story is on yours.

Any chance you might scan that Galaga bezel and make the result scan available?

I have had a repro project on the back burner for awhile but could never find bezel artwork.

Why don't you buy it off him?

How'd you get those machines home in an MX-5?  I've never been able to manage it - knowing how would save me the trouble of borrowing a truck.  ;)
