My and a couple friends who are all newly 18 are starting to plan a trip up to Oklahoma. Wanted to go hit some indian casinos and was looking for recomendations. Any place with a nice selection of table games.
Thanks :)

Stay away from Winstar. They only have blackjack and charge 50 cents per hand to play!!! Plus no alcohol............and they call themselves a casino! Go to Shreveport............
-
Only 18, isn't Shrievport all 21 and up?

its a 50 cent charge on top of every hand. Thats not the bet. :/
-
21 and up....... I was unaware that OK was 18.

Oklahoma casinos will put you to sleep. I live within a short drive of a bunch of them, I'd rather go fishing.

oh, thats kinda lame

I was just reading something on this. That 50 cents moves your best possible winning percentage down a few points.
Sorry I don't know the specifics, but basically, it said that 50 cents really screws up your odds. Avoid those games.
Anyone who wants to PAY 50 cents to play a game your most likely going to lose anyway, is a sucker.

edit: This site shows house edges, imagine a 50 cents ante makes those worse..

You have to be 21 to gamble at the casinos in Shreveport/Bossier. Horseshoe and Hollywood both have poker though. They have tournaments for the WPT every week. If you're 18-20, you can bet on the horses at the track. You just can't play the slots.

A co-worker was at an Oklahoma casino this past weekend. He said it was a tent or something. But he said they had about 25 poker tables including $1/$2 no limit Texas Hold 'Em with a minimum buy-in of $100. I could go for something like that. No alcohol and no smoking at the tables, though. (It's not like I need either.)

So this trip is pretty pointless?
-
I would say yes, wait till your 21 go to shreveport that way you can get all the free alcohol while you play the nickel slots.

Just set up your own poker game or blackjack at your house one night.

In Tulsa they just built a huge one I think is cherokee casino, they have alot of black jack and poker tables, and they do rake a take on each hand, but thats pretty standard, I mean how else are they gonna make money? And I go occasionally, but my brother and his friend go alot and my brother usually buys in for about $150 and most nights comes out ahead anywhere from $200-$300 bucks, his friend is a little more serious and buys in for $300-$400 dollars a time and usually comes out ahead, as much as $1000 dollars some nights, he has actually made it quite profitable and his only means of work through school right now.
Granted, I'm not saying it's easy to win money, they are pretty good players and have it down to an art for the most part. But basically I'm saying don't listen to the others, if you can't play the 21 and up casinos and just want a fun weekend trip or whatever, go for it, it doesn't have the glitz and glam of vegas or other places, but it does the job well of just plopping down some cash and seeing how it goes.

Just looked it up, the Cherokee is 21 and up :(
