Title: which T-molding is the best?

Flat, Smooth or Leather? anyway im looking for the one that is softest..thanks

I had the "leather" texture on my Gauntlet cab. Its not what you think really, it looks more like a cracked and pitted tmolding than leather. Its not bad, its not great. Check around on the many online Tmolding sites. Most will send you a 6" sample of whatever style/color you're interested in. When I was looking formmine, I had them send me 10 6" strips of all the possible moldings I thought I might like. This makes it much easier because instead of looking at a picture online, you can actually hold it up to your cab and see what fits best.

red or light blue is good for black cabs

I agree with the sample suggestion....pictures never produce the same color as what you can hold in your hand....and, you can't tell "softness" from a photo!

Any other comments on the 'leather' stuff?

I used smooth on my cab, and while it looks nice (to begin with), I have several marks on mine now.  Partly this is due to t-molding either side of the control panel, which is prone to watch scratches etc.  I just think the leather stuff might be a bit more rugged (or at least marks might not be as obvious).

Minwah, you're right about that. On my MAME cab I used smooth. On my NEO-GEO I used "leather". The leather finish stuff does indeed hide scratches much, much better. The smooth is starting to look pretty scuffed, the leather still looks very nice.

I think you can only get leather in black. My MAME cab used blue t-molding, so smooth was the only option I had for that one.

Cool, thanks :)  I have black molding anyway, so it would be ok for me.  I'm getting some sideart done on adhesive vinyl so I might remove the t-molding anyway (haven't 100% decided if I can get away with leaving it on while applying the sideart).  Maybe if I do remove it I could replace it with the leather stuff.
