Anyone else ever go? Visited a buddy yesterday while they were practicing, and the buildings were just SHAKING! I've seen a few air shows at the EAA in Oshkosh, but never the Blue Angels.
Really looking forward to it. I'll prolly have to tell you guys all about it ::)

Lucky you...........
Have a good time........

Well, WAY cooler than I thought it would be, way LOUDER (huh? what's that you said?) than I thought it would be, and fun for the little kids all around!
Twice they got close to a boom, but I think there's some limit they won't go past, still, you could see the telltale signs starting, and MAN, the guy was pushing it the whole way past the crowd!
I've NEVER in my life seen a cargo plane do what they put it through, a double loop, a STRAIGHT UP climb, some rolls.....I was hoping for an upside-down run but I dunno if that's beyond the limits of that thing.
They had an air show out over Lake Michigan with various stuff going on since 11:30 this morning, we went down for the Blue Angels only, and half our crowd skipped out before that started due to the kids and the heat. Had me a Sprecher Black Bavarian that was something to write home about, got to see some nice stunt plane action, and a little Bastille Days scenery.
Look for the Calatrava. Nice piece of artwork they doubled into an interesting museum they built down here by our lakefront. Didn't get a chance to see if it's ongoing, or coming soon, but there's gonna be an Arts & Crafts exhibit I'm gonna look into tomorrow to either see or go soon to see.

Every year there is the Air and Sea show on Ft Lauderdale beach and it's great, they have the Blue Angels and every other kind of jets you could think of.
You just gotta love seeing those great aircraft in person and very close.

I'm from Pensacola (the 'Blues's home) and have seen many shows over the years. I last saw them when I went home for leave the Saturday before the 4th.
Best aero-exhibition show in the world.......(and being Air Force, I'm going to catch hell for saying that!)

When I lived on MacDill AFB, we used to see them all the time. You're right, it's a unique experience for people not used to that type of aircraft. Of course, it doesn't help their cause that every few years they get into a massive accident and a couple of them die in a fireball.

I believe you're confusing the Navy's Blue Angels with the Air Force's Thunderbirds. The Tbirds have a horendous record.

Good point, I could be... we used to see them both, but I was young enough to confuse them.
