I've just begun construction on my MAME cabinet using LuSiD's plans. It's coming along well; just about to glue and screw the side panels to the base.
One thing I haven't figured out yet is how a marquee will go on. I have two strips of the Happs marquee retainers, but I'm not sure I see how they get used. Do I just staple them to the cabinet top and speaker panel so they wrap around and press on the front of the marquee glass? If that's the case, I must then have to offset the top panel and speaker panel a little so the marquee comes out flush with the cabinet front?
Any advice on mounting the marquee would be most helpful, so I get it right while assembling the main part of the cabinet. A local printer is printing me a copy of one the MAME logos from Oscar Controls gallery on 12 mil Lexan that's backed with a white diffusion layer. That should look sweet when it's backlighted properly.
The other question I had relates to the Happ trackball, specifically the translucent ones. Anybody have any good suggestions for lighting the ball? It looks like a light underneath is the way to do it, but I'm not sure how much light is needed. I'm leaning toward some LEDs under the panel, but any other ideas would be great!
Thanks...

Some folks have used LEDs for it. I used a 6 watt bulb with a bayonet mount that I got from Radio Shack. To power it, I got a 5 watt universal AC adapter, also from Radio Shack.
