This is my first arcade cabinet and I am having problems with the monitor.
-
I'd start with a capkit. It's also possible that the tube is going bad.

I've already installed a cap kit. 33 Capacitors in total. No change. If its the tube thats going then I pretty much need a new monitor, right?
-
Possibly, or if you can find a TV repair shop that still does Tube rejuvination, you can try that before getting a new one. If you do buy a new monitor, keep your chassis and yoke off the old one to use as ebay fodder. :)

I've contacted a local TV repairman who can do a tube rejuvenation in my home for $55 CDN tax in (approx $45 US).

Sounds like a tube problem. It should be fixed with a rejuvenator.
