Statistically, home runs are not down from last year.  The top 2-3% of guys are slightly off but the overall numbers are mostly the same.  The big difference we're seeing, which no one mentions because people don't bother to think, is in the pitching.  Look at many guys who won 15+ games last year can't even go 6 innings this year.
