Title: New AIM account for me
Post by: SirPeale on July 12, 2005, 09:11:01 pm
I signed on to AOL to get some free schwag, and used my screen name that I'd had for ages to do so.

Should have made something different.  I'd heard the horror stories of people trying to cancel their AOL accounts and having it not happen, so I used a disposable credit card number, and cancelled it right after I opened the account.

Well, I forgot to try and cancel it, but was comforted by the fact that they couldn't charge me.

Went to sign on today, and I find I can't!  Account has been blocked.  Called and tried to unblock it, but they won't unless I pony up $23.90 for a month's service (which I've never even used).  Yeah, right.

So I've had to start a new screen name.  It's in my profile, for those of you who had it before.

Everytime I sign up I use the trial and when I go to cancel they talk me into another free month, longest run yet was 6 months long using AOL with no charge.  I just had to remember once  month to call and say I wanted to "cancel" and when they asked why I just said I have been busy and havent had much time to try it out, and they are like, well let me give you another month so you can try out some stuff, like our new XXXX feature and see how you like it....

What kind of a drink is ApeAle and why would anyone drink it?

Also, will you please let that poor girl rest, she's been in constant motion for like a week and it is clear that the experience is unpleasant for her.

I did it for maximum exposure.  And as a mod I can just move it!  Which I'll do tonight, 24 hours from when I posted.
