I've been experimenting lately with designing my own cabinets, and I wanted to get a few opinions on this one.

My only concern would be the monitor sticking back past the base might tend to overballance it, but monitors tend to be front heavy so.... If it was a problem you could just put a sandback in the bottom front and take it out when you wanted to move it.
Is the big square in the middle of your CP going to be a trackball, or are you going to try to set up some kind of modular mount for "other" controlers?

The majority of the monitor's weight is in the tube in front. That is almost center, so I don't think it will be off balance much.

Yeah, my head knows it should be allright. My heart is saying, "Hey, your monitor is sticking out the back and those things are heavy!"
Actually, it may be my lower back and not my heart....

I'm wondering if putting the admin buttons on the front will be a problem. My friends and I put the full body english on when playing games like Golden Tee and have a tendency to lean into the cabinet. Doing this may cause someone to inadvertantly hit the admin buttons and escape or pause the game at inopportune times. Other than that, it looks good to me. Is this for you personaly or something to sell? If you don't move around too muchb during game play it might not be a problem.

Thanks for the input everyone. Here's some answers to a few questions-
The big square in the middle of the CP would be for a 3" trackball. I used the dimensions from the HAPP site since I've only install the 2.25" version from Ultimarc.
I originally had a little bump out at the bottom to increase the depth by another 4", but the bottom removable panel would have been harder to mount than if it was straight. I also considred just making the whole back straight, but I like the look better this way. I think the center of gravity for the TV should be in the middle of the cabinet, so hopefully there won't be any stability/safety concerns. :o
This cabinet would be to sell. My brother-in-law's friend saw my UA-I and wants me to build him one. However, I wasn't very happy with the UA-I design and wanted to try my own hand at designing a cabinet that I could cut and assemble easier. We'll see how it goes.... 8)

I personally would suggest a bit more of a buffer for the rear of the monitor.
It looks like a tight squeeze and if for any reason you have to set the TV back further than you anticipated, I think you will run out of room real quick.
