Title: .95 CHD's work w .97 MAME?
Post by: picasso on July 11, 2005, 05:05:22 pm
Can someone tell me if the .95 CHD file will work w/.97 version of MAME?   I hope I am not breaking any board rules.  I don't think I am but please feel free to delete if so.

Probably the best way to tell is to give it a test.  If the CHD files don't work, I believe there are some programs that will fix them?  Wouldn't CLR Mame pro correct any issue's?  Anyone?

I recall some batch files floating around before that would fix some of the CHD files.

Clrmame will tell you if you have the right chd.  If not I don't know if it can fix it, I doubt it.  The batch file for converting was for a very early version of mame with chd support.

There haven't been any new CHDs added in a little while.  likely they'll work.  The only change I can think of was some renaming.

Even if there are changes, there's a utility called chdman (??) which can usually fix them, it's included with mame.
