Title: stuck in GTA vice city

HELP!
I just can not figure out how to use this sniper gun .
I have to protect a fat short guy doing a drug deal. The other group of people come in and just kill every one and I can not seem to kill them first.
is there a trick to this?
I am standing on a fire escape.

Thats pretty early on in the game, what seems to be the problem?

Find the button for the scope and fire.

  wait till you have to chase the guy on the dirt bike. that's the reason i stopped playing the game altogether

just cant seem to get a good shot. after they kill the guy I am supposed to protect I can pick them off fine. but during the battle I keep missing target (heads)

ya gotta stick with it, the sniper rifle is essential for a few missions in the game.  Learn to use it.

I was having some trouble with the sniper rifle in GTA III and I looked around the environment and found a pill icon that slowed down time.  I was then able to pick off all the guys I needed to with ease.  I am not positive these icons exist in GTA vice city.

vicy city for what system?

Actually, for the mission you are talking about the heavy machine gun is better, just start blowing up the cars next to the enemies, they go with it.  Anyone that is still alive switch to uzi and target.

Is there  a pill near that spot.  I know on the southern end of that long alleyway ther eis one.    But for that mission you are near DSP Security, right?
