I got this note in my email this morning and thought some of you would be interested:
Hello! I have gotten an excellent offer on my warehouse in Hagerstown,
MD and have signed a contract to sell it. There are over 1000 machines
in the building, and I don't have a new place to store that much stuff,
so it all has to go! Most unrestored machines are now under $100, and
everything is priced to move. Email or call to make an appointment
(lloyd@coinopwarehouse.com or call my cell at 703-801-1459) and bring a
truck! Pictures are current on the website at www.coinopwarehouse.com.
Thanks! Lloyd

Yeah, it's a shame. Timing wise for me it's even worse. I've been meaning to pick up a few projects, but with the little one around can't find the time.
Anybody else pick anything up that they'd like to share with some photos?

i am in maryland...i suppose i cant put off going out there anymore huh :)

Time to start a new project that I have no room for. Oh well...at least I have hardly any money to put towards it hehe ;D
-
Thanks for the tip. I'm in VA, about 3-4 hours from the warehouse. I sent Lloyd an e-mail to find out when the doors will close for good. Anyone from the Richmond, VA area interested in a day trip?

mnmcaputo and I are planning a monday trip over there if he has the time. I should call tomorrow to set it up. We are in Frederick, MD if you want to come with.

It's probably bs. Lloyd is prob looking to cut back on a ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- load of jamma conversions he's collected all year and move the crap out for the summer. I think he did this last year. The guy is OK, but he's done some shady things in the past. Just read old posts about him in the newsgroups and you'll get the idea. I'm not trying to be a dick, just don't want a fellow byoac'er to waste hours driving there for nothing.

Thanks - but I'd most likely go on a Sat. or Sun.
I contacted lloyd from the first post, they said they had to be out by August & that most of the un-refurbed arcade cabs are selling for $65. That's all they said.

Hey guys, I went up on Wed of this week. There were quite a few people there loading up on Arcade Games of assorted condition, Jukeboxes and other assorted crap. I picked up a working Neo-Geo cab with a 25 in monitor for next to nothing. I'm in Bel Air, and will most likely be heading out that way soon to pick up a cocktail cabinet I had my eyes on, if anyone is looking to share the cost of a trip drop me an email kcdonahue (at) gmail.com

Maybe there are some good deals there? NEO GEO cabs are not that hard to get though. Can you remember anything of value to BYOAC or collectors of oldies? I'm in Odenton, so it sounds like I may have to make a trip out there now....
-
Hey Xtra, My knowledge of collectible/sought after games is pretty limited but I did spend a lot of time tooling around the warehouse. One cab that caught my eye that I had not seen for a long time was a Death Race. Overall the cab looked restorable, if you have the time and money to invest... The cab was black with white art that was in decent shape. The monitor is in the cab and the control panel was laying next to it.
I went out to the warehouse to get a project cabinet that had little collectible value and figured for the price for the Neo Geo was worth it (yup, I'm building a MAME machine). Plus I knew that the Death Race would be pretty low on the spouse approval meter.

I just talked to Lloyd he said he'll probably be there every day for a couple of weeks. Sounds like he's still got a lot of stuff and plans to get rid of everything. He did say that he's still going to do this on a smaller scale but, nothing like it's been.

Went looking for a Puck Bowler and Pinball but ended up with Pole Position II sitdown for $140 and a bucket full of Happ Driving Controls for an Extra $20
There are a quite a few Flight Style machines with good solid yokes... $65 bucks aint bad at all..
If you are thinking of building a cab and live within a few hours it's probally worth a trip....
