Title: Virtual Jukebox 2.0 Released.
Post by: VMJ Team on December 19, 2002, 09:43:17 am
Virtual Jukebox version 2 is officially released.  I have left out the CD ripping and FREEDB access from this version.  There are several very good utilities out there to do the same thing, so It seemed like overkill at this point.  If there is enough of a demand for these features, I'll consider adding them to version 3.

You can download the latest version of Virtual Jukebox from the new Mameroom.com website:  http://www.mameroom.com/new/index.htm

Or grab the updated executable (If you've installed the Version 2 beta):

I will check it out!

but I was hoping for the ripping.  Why?  I would be great on an arcade machine to be able to rip a cd from inside a frontend -> virtual jukebox in one step... without a keyboard...

but this would only be way way cool if it would check the net for the title names... this would be waywayway sweeet.

Well, that was the original plan.  To pop in a CD and have VJ go out and hit the FREEDB database to grab track/album/artist info and rip the tracks.  I currently use FreeRip which does this exact thing.  I will most likely add these features to VJ, but with the holidays right around the corner, I may be too busy to get to it this year....but it is definately on the list of things to do.

CyberPunk,

I was real curious as to what this cool App was written in.

Thanks,
