I have a UK dreamcast and im in the process of getting some US dreamcast games. To play the US games on a UK console you need a modchip. There seem too be at least a couple out there and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them and could recommend one or tell me about your experiences with them.

Sorry I don't know (I'd be interested to know too tho).
But you can also get a software solution, just a disc you put in. It's a bit of a pain (disc swapping), but saves modding the DC. I have a disc that does this, that they gave away on the cover of the Official Dreamcast Magazine (UK) - it is a cheat disc but people soon discovered it could be used to run import games ;D

im not sure either... i think Minwah is reffering to Utopia boot disk?

im not sure either...

I was looking at megagames today doing some research on DC's. I know that you need Utopia for running games that have been burnt in the unbootable BIN/CUE formats but does it also allow you to play imports?
Actually I have just found this product which I imagine is a version, if not, Utopia:

In a way I would rather go down the mod chip route just for fun :) but they are a bit expensive at

I think it was called 'Game-X' or something like that. It allowed you to select a cheat and then boot the game, it wasn't officially intended for booting backups or imports, afaik. I can find out the name for sure if anyones interested...

Sweet, thanks for the info. Managed to find someone with the whole US set, some 600 odd games. Originals of course.
