I'm just finishing up my CP and I wanted to know what's the standard height from CP top to the start of the handle on the joystick. I'm using 5/8" wood and I routed out about 1/2 way to fit the joystick in but it still seems abit low. I am also using the longer spacer pieces. Anyway to raise the stick up? Is it ok to remove one of the bottom spacers to raise it up?

WHAT?
use the long spacer and since you routed 1/2 and you have 5/8 wood.it should be little too high correct?
you got a lexan or something on the panel?

My super in a 3/4" thick control panel (routed thinner though) tops at about 3.25". The bottom of the "bat" is about 1" above the cp.
Do NOT remove any of the bottom spacers, or the actuator will not press the switches (or might press and then get stuck under the metal).
*edit*
here's a picture of my hotrod super joystick w/ ruler:

(yes, the "1" is really worn out. sorry, no metric ruler for everyone else in the world except us old fashion USA inch user's.)

Hmm 3 1/4 is about what mine is at I think.. It just seemed low to me. I'll mount it and give it a feel. It's most likely what it should be just looked off. Thanks for the info guys. and no I don't have any cover over the CP. I simply applied a few coats of a ployurethan for protection. I may in the future get a piece of Lexan to cover it depending how it looks/feels.
