My dad ships 20 Pound boxes to australia from Toronto, Ontario for about $60 CDN.... They are shipped using a ship. It takes about 2 months to get there.

Yeah, the USPostal service will ship a 4 lb box for like $30, but it'll take 6weeks or something to get there.

Just go to the airport and hang around the gate a flight to Australia is leaving from.  Just start asking random people if they'll slip your package into their carry-on.

I bought about 3lbs of stuff from PonyBoy not that long ago.
He shipped via USPS 4 - 10 day service and it cost me US$23.25.

I usually ship international stuff via the post office, the six week method.

If you still need to ship, I think DHL has really good prices, and are very fast...

I've bought stuff from USA before... regular USPS airmail seems to be the best price/speed compromise.

As for DHL, I may be wrong but I didn't think they were that cheap...
