Post by: Tadao on July 03, 2005, 04:21:47 pm
Hello. A day in car, I found in abandonated site a cabinet dig dug (i live in Chile, and is very hard found a original cabinet, because the manufactures of machine only import the boards and monitor, and make very ugly cabinets (cheaps)  the. They owner sell me the cabinet in 4 dollars. This it was in very bad conditions, with missing wood parts, and damaged by the water. I have begun to recover it with sandpaper and paste to repair crushing cars. Nevertheless, I need aid to paint artwork. some suggestion like returning to paint? -stencils?, anyone have the files?

I would just build a new cabinet using these Centipede plans; I'm very certain that they used the same cabinet:

Good option, but i don't have credit card to buy parts in USA  :'(.  The CPO is easy to made in illustrator or freehand and printing in Chile to low price.

Dig Dug and Centipede cabinets are not the same at all!  Similar, but not at all the same!

Mike,

I'm sorry, but you are incorrect, there is far more difference than the coin door.  They look the same at a glance, but put them right next to each other and the differences are obvious.  The control panels are different sizes too (centipede CP doesn't stick out as far as Dig Dug).

That's not a US standard cab.

No, I don't have any pics of them next to each other to make it obvious.  Here's the best I can do, it is two pics from KLOV.com.  Look closely at the CP area.  I think the rear lower corner of the Dig Dug / Kangaroo cabinet might be lopped off too, instead of straight.  I'm not sure about that though, it could just be that particular Kangaroo has a damaged rear corner.

Yup, sure looks a tad deeper on the monitor above the CP.  Also, now that you mention it, I'm pretty sure my Roo had that back angle cut on the cab too. :)  Dig Dug "may" be the same as the Roo.

Thanks for the details.

No problem.  Commonly confused, too.  I'm pretty sure the Dig Dug is the same as the Roo on the front, not sure about the back lower corner and couldn't find any good pictures of it at the moment.

Title: Corners
Post by: Tadao on July 29, 2005, 10:52:56 pm
The back corners of this cabinet are rounded. I spend time searching about this cornes, because the corners of the machine are very damaged and broken for the water damage.  Another evidence of this, is the sideart of arcadelibrary. If you see, you can look the rounded corners in the sideart. This is another diference with the Centenpide cabinet. I Think was Kagaroo and Dig Dug use the same cabinet.

Spray paint?
Use a foam roller instead.

Good idea, i try with foam roller. It's better for cover the wood of white, before to paste the sticker with the sideart.
