Title: Happy Canada Day!
Post by: JoyMonkey on July 01, 2005, 08:22:55 am
I just noticed that my calender says it's Canada Day.
Does this mean that I should be at home watching hockey and drinking Molsen?

Seriously though, what do Canadians do today? Are there parades?

What do you do on July 4th?

I've only been living in the US for 4 years (it'll be 4 years on July 13th), and this will be the third time I've been here for the 4th of July. The last two times I was here for the 4th, I ended up doing a pub-crawl; but I was supposed to be at peoples barbeques and watching fireworks.
I wasn't trying to be a smart-ass, just wondering what you do up there.

I would rather be living in Canada, with the current administration in the US the way it is.

Nice patriotic quote right before Independence Day.... I'm sure all our fallen soldiers appreciate that.........

No ones stopping you......... pack your bags and go........ that is if they'll take you..........

and now back to our regularly scheduled thread
---------------------------------------------------------

In honor of Canada Day I will sneak a few Canadian coins in with my change and spend it on a 6 pack of Labatt Blue

That has nothing to do with the fallen troops. I support the troops, I dont support the war and I dont support Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld. And I cant pack my bags and go, I'm a minor

I would live here happily it there were a more open-minded, less war hungry administration in place

Whats patriotic about what he said? The fact that he doesnt agree with the current administration?

I dont like what they are doing either, but i dont hate on americans.

I support the troops because it takes alot of heart and alot of guts to go there and fight.

You should come to Canada though if you like beer. Seriously. When i go down to the states. i smuggle in some two-fours of Keiths :)

Monkey, its the same thing as your holiday.

Get hammered and blow stuff up.

If you disagree with the president that makes you unpatriotic in the united states in the eyes of a republican.
Its idiotic.

How effing bored and insensitive are you that you can't simply wish Canadians here "Happy Canada Day, eh!"

Is calling you "insensitive" hurting your feelings or cheesing you off?  Good.  Go crap in someone else's punchbowl, you knobs.  This WASN'T the thread for it.

Canadians (and guys like me who like SOME Canadians) unite!

Wait a minute.  Are you getting on others for bringing politics into an unrelated thread?

Well Canada Day has ended here in Boston, hopefully some of you out there enjoyed it; other than the note on my day-by-day calender I wouldn't have known it even existed. Next year maybe I'll head to Montreal and see what I'm missing.

I think you'll find Montreal a little more exciting on Canada Day than Boston.  But if you're thinking about going, make sure you're there for Baptiste Day on June 24th.  That's when the real partying goes on in Montreal.
