So I had all these leaf joysticks and buttons and so on, painstakingly cleaned after removing them from trashed/dead meat cabs, and I kept them around for years. Well, I never got out of my tiny apartment and my bad financial sitatuion, and I went on a cleaning spree, and a threw a bunch of stuff away, including all those controls. Now I need a bunch of controls, and all the prices are way up from the time I chucked these. WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING? Now I'll never be able to build a mame cab. Too bad, I've got some good monitors for free and free MDF, shop access, etc. I guess that's how it goes.
Or, about 10 years ago, when I had to put a full original Missile COmmand and Asteroids cab outside cause I had nowhere to fit them in the garage I was living in, and they got ruined even though I tarped them down etc. I should have at elast kept the volcano buttons+trackball etc! ARGH.
I'm just trying to make a 1/2 size cab now to fit into my cramped quarters. But geeze, I was looking at happs and everything has gone way up.
I feel pretty stupid... of all the crap I've packratted, I had to go and chuck my perfectly good arcade controls. They were all leaf sticks and switches too, and I dig those a lot.

Anyone have any ideas where I can score some sticks etc for dirt cheap? I guess since this cabinet hobby thing has blown way up lately, you can't find people getting rid of controls anymore?

Check the buy/sell/trade forum. There's good deals all the time. Matter of fact, I'll be parting w/ some joysticks within the next few weeks.
