I tried this last night for the first time and decided to get some input first.
i'm using MAME32 and have the Slikstik Quad. the Rotary sticks are in the player 3 and 4 positions. What would be the easiest way to get it set up to use those stations for those games?
My first thought was to hit the tab key, go to game specific controls and just set every input to the P3 stick (up=up, rotate+1= turning the stick, etc.)
Is there an easier way that i'm missing?

No, that's pretty much how you have to do it. My suggestion is to actually hit the appropriate keypresses on your keyboard though, since it is extremely easy to hit a diagonal when you are trying to set a horizontal or vertical while setting keys.
Then you have to manually tweak the sensitivity of the rotation in the specific cfg file, like ikari.cfg. That file gets created for each game the first time you play it in Mame.
I haven't nailed down the right values for the games yet, so I can't really help you there, and it's probably very computer-specific anyway. The only thing I can definitely tell you is that it's a HUGE PAIN. ;)

Man, that sucks. Plus, i underestimated how many games you need the rotary stick to play. I remembered Ikari and the other where the guys go through time, but forgot Guerilla War and such.
Thanks. Now i'll get to work...
