Title: Full PC for sale (Eastern PA)- Perfect for MAME
Post by: Jawadali on June 28, 2005, 11:30:30 pm
Hello Guys, I have a full PC for sale. I am currently using it for MAME/Emulation, but I have 2 PCs and I need to get rid of one of them.

First off, I have Heatware feedback (http://www.heatware.com/eval.php?id=21384) under Jawadali.

I am new to BYOAC, but have traded many times in the past, mainly on PC-related forums.

Now, as for the PC:

CPU: AMD Athlon 1.4Ghz 266mhz FSB (w/heatsink)

Motherboard: ASUS A7A266 (http://usa.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=A7A266&langs=09). Supports DDR and SDRAM, but not both at once.

RAM: 512MB (2x128 + 1x256) PC133

Graphics card: Geforce 4 MX440 AGP 64MB, Composite + S-video + VGA out (I don't have any extra cables though)

Hard Drive: 10GB Quantum Fireball (shows up as ~9.6 after formatting)

Floppy Drive: Included; beige color.

CD Drive: Creative DVD-ROM 6x, does not read CD-RW discs (reads CD-ROM/DVD-ROM/burned CD-Rs, but not CD-RWs).

Sound Card: Generic PCI sound card, works fine.

Modem: Older U.S. Robitics 56k PCI Modem. I don't have drivers for this one, because it is out of an older PC (I stopped using dial-up about 2 years ago, it hasn't been tested since, but it should work). I can include it free of charge if you need a modem. You can probably Google the model number and find some drivers.

Case: Generic, missing a few bay covers and PCI slot covers. I'm hoping to get a better (more presentable) case.

Power Supply: Enhance 250w, runs this PC fine.

I can also supply a keyboard and mouse, but that will probably increase the shipping fee a little.

As for the OS, it has Win98 SE installed at the moment, but my Win98 SE CD is scratched. PM me for more details.

This PC has run everything that I played (Marvel vs. Capcom was probably the most intensive thing I tested), so it should play the majority of MAME games. It can play SNES and Sege Genesis games too. I haven't tested it with Playstaion games, but it can probably play them well at a medium resolution.

Price: $150 + shipping OBO
. Shipping can be worked out (if it's a very large amount, like $25-30+, I will pay a decent percentage of it). If you are in the Eastern PA (Allentown/Lehigh Valley) area you can come by and pick it up.

I'm not looking for any trades at the moment, except maybe a good digital camera. If you can cut me an awesome deal on a 4-player control panel, I'd probably also trade for that (we can work out the details). However, cash is preferred.

I can take Money Order or Non-Credit Card Paypal.

Thanks for looking, and Post/PM me with any questions.

Edited first post to mention that a Sound Card is included, and a Modem can be included if requested.

I also have a network card that I found the drivers to, but It was giving me an error on boot after I installed the drivers (I had to hit enter a couple of times before Win98 loaded cause some .vxd file could not be found). I think this was because I had originally installed Win98 without Networking, so I bet it works, but your mileage may vary. It can also be included free of charge if requested.

that's a good price.  I have a very similar system sitting in boxes in the closet.  I was thinking about selling it but if it's only worth <$200 I might as well keep it.  Anyway, gl on your sale.

Thanks.

Yeah, I was trying to get rid of it before it was totally worthless.

Edited to mention that a floppy drive is also included (I kinda forgot about it, and then remembered).
