DOH! I just got sniped trying to win this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6188727816&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEDW%3AIT&rd=1
Partly my fault for not wanting to spend too much for it.
Anyways, I have NEVER seen or heard of a joystick like that! It looks like a Super, but it's also an optical Spinner!

I'm pretty sure it's the second one on this page...

That was my first thought. If so, they are still available new.

I bought two of them from happs 5 years ago. They still have them too. They are good for Ikari Warriors, Time Soldiers and games like that. As a spinner, they are so-so. Depends on the game.

I sold a pair of those out of a Caliber .50 conversion awhile back.

First, WOW! almost 3000 posts and you never heard of one of these.
Second, I think RayB wouldn't want the HAPPs. The price of $16 over $45, plus HAPP shipping! Yikes.
Third, man, that's a great deal. I might have to be on the lookout for these now. Thanks RayB!! ;D

So they suck as spinners? THey don't look geared, so probably not too good with Arkanoid, but they also do they free spin much? If no, then no good for Tempest. heh
What if we added a weight to it? Hmmm
See I was thinkig this is a great way to add a spinner to aCP that has no space for one...

From what I've read, actually, you have it wrong-way round.
Very little free spin, so bad for tempest, but probably sub-par but useable for Arkanoid.
Probably not what you wanted to hear, though.

Agree with Tiger-Heli. For feel, it should feel like the joystick you most likely have while rotating it as most sticks should rotate.
I'm doing something similar with my P360 using the Willy Wonka hack. Arkanoid would play fine, Tempest wouldn't. Suprisinly I like it the most for Discs of Tron. I haven't played the real one in years, so I don't have that ingrained into memory, but the way I play it on my machine feels really natural and I shattered my top score the fist time I played it.

Don't feel too bad about missing that auction. Amusement911 is not an ideal seller to buy from on EBAY.

I've bought from him before. So long as you win several auctions, so you get combined shipping, he's ok. Otherwise, yes, you get raped on shipping.

Echo that. I just opened a box from him 20 minutes ago. His outrageous shipping would have been the death of me if it had only been one auction. But his combined price was the same as the cost to ship just one auction, making it a sweet deal with everything I had in there.
Of course, I shouldn't be buying any more parts, but...

Nope, they do not spin freely. Only turn as much as you twist them, so that's why some games suck (Tempest). You can play arkanoid and a few other though. The stick also works decent for Tron.

i would love to have those... cause time soldiers used to be one of my favorite games.. and it sucks trying to turn left and right with buttons... but $45 apiece... not gonna happen....and you said they suck as spinners for other spinner games.... how are they as joysticks for fighting games??
