Title: Switchable 4-way/8-way trigger joystick?
Post by: Dougmeister on June 28, 2005, 10:50:55 am
Tempted to get the Prodigy Topfire from GroovyGameGear, but it's pricey ($55), and from what I've been reading, most (?) people prefer a trigger joystick to a topfire?

Is that a safe assumption to make?

If so, does a 4/8-way trigger joystick exist?

I don't have an answer to your question, but personally I prefer a topfire. I have the non-topfire version of the Prodigy and IMO it's a fantastic bit of kit to add to your panel. If the topfire was available when I bought mine I would have gotten that instead.

I'm pretty sure they're aren't any switchable triggersticks.

However, you could get Tron/Gorf/Xenophobe type grips and mount them to 1UP's 49-way handles, and use the GP-Wiz49's DRS capabilities to switch between 4 and 8-way mode.
