just a stupid newbie question. but what exactly would I need to buy/do to switch from amplified mono(one channel) to amplified stereo(two channel)?? I am wanted to switch jamma boards but the sound is different. any help would be awsome. thank you in advance.

A simple splitter from Radio shack should do. you may have to crimp a few connectors but that's really easy. Just understand, you're not going to be getting true stereo. Are you going straight to the speakers after the split? If so, you may want to check the ratings on the speaker to make sure it will work well.

Are you saying that the "new JAMMA board" is stereo ? If so (arguments about standards aside), get a hold of the documentation for the new board (what is it that Alan likes to say ? ;) ).
Cheers
