A bit harsh but weeds out the trolls.

I don't think those are buyer friendly rules. I like when people let others know a price is way too high. It lets people know that this isn't a board where it's okay to rip people off or present misleading info in the post. Rather than a cut throat buyer beware mentality, it's more like everyone looking out for each other.

I agree with monkeybomb to an extent.
A proper response would be: Bla-Bla.com has this item for $XX and include a link. Lowballing ($100 offer on a $300 item is threadcrapping) or comments about the seller (you must be nuts)are uncalled for.
Bottom line is buyer beware, this forum has no method of settling disputes with bad sellers or rip-off artists so I know from experience that it ultimately is up to me to be certain of the deal and the seller's rep.
I ask a lot of questions now, more than before I was ripped off. Fortunately most sellers here are reputable. DTA.
My 2 cents.
ARCADIAC!

I don't think we have any price/deal-discussing trolls in our B/S/T forum that need "weeded out"

Most sellers (at least here) are honest and will almost always lower a price when it's pointed out that they're asking too much. Just being a jerk and telling the OP he's a moron or some such shouldn't be tolerated in any forum.
