Title: What size T-Molding with a laminated surface?
Post by: ITrek on December 16, 2002, 10:29:41 am
If 5/8" wood is used to build a cabinet and lamination is added increasing the width by 1/16"+, does it look better if you use 3/4" T-molding or 5/8"?

I used 5/8" wood and 1/8" lucite with 3/4" T-molding.

You can see how they fit together on one small exposed corner of my control panel:

I used 3/4 for my 5/8 that has been laminated.

It came out VERY well. I also used a T-molding trimmer from t-molding.com

If you do buy the trimmer make sure you test it first and round any sharp edges off before trimmer your expensive cabinet! ( it has some sharp edges that can damage the t-molding if you do not round them)
