Title: Analog Sticks
Post by: Minwah on December 16, 2002, 10:12:46 am
I'm just thinking about controls for my panel (if I ever get round to building it...).  Anyway, can anyone recommend a good analog stick?  I do not want a PC one since these tend to be pretty plasticky...but the Happ ones are as usual bank-breakers.  Are there any alternatives?

Also, I like the old Atari red-light start buttons - I guess these are pretty rare but I wondered are re-pro ones available anywhere?

Thanks for any advise  :D

EBay is the place... I got mine for 10 bucks + shipping.  Go for a 5k analog flight stick and go for the 1up starwars hack.

Ask on rec.games.video.arcade.collecting

If anyone has anything, they would know there.

For a suggestion, check out my analog joystick project:

Thanks, I do keep an eye out on ebay, but not many 'parts' come up in the UK.

Nice work, Dave_K - I have not seen those PS controllers before.  How did you connect it up?  Using a PS>USB adaptor or was some hacking needed?

I am hacking up to a Dual Shock controller's analog thumbsticks.  From there I can use any of the converters->non ps2-console or to usb/PC.  But its primarily going to be used for my playstation2 cabinet.
