I cant post in Buy/Sale forum yet because im a new member, however im trying to find the going price on a 4 player US Xmen, USED. The board is good, but the power supply is broke. I was thinking about buying this one from my friend, but i cant find a good price on ebayto compare it to. Hes asking about $800 for it but i dont know if thats a good price.

This thread
will probalbly get has been moved to "Arcade Misc."
I think it's worth about $300-$500 once fixed
and the power supply would just be a standard switchin power supply which costs about $30 from Happ
-
If its not fixed, how much would it be worth broken? 300-500 minus the $30? i really dont want to repair it, id like to take the guts out and put a PC underneath it and make it a mame machine.
-
If it's not working, but you absolutely know what's wrong with it, it'll definitely be worth the value minue $30. If it's just not "coming on" and you're not completely sure what the problem is, then it's hard to say what the value is.
-
???
Why would you want to M@ME(tm) it?
If you fix it up and sell it on Ebay you will make some profit, be able to get another cabinet, and have extra monef to go toward
-
Well i already have 1 mame machine, thats running on a PC with a TV for a screen. I might just buy it and then keep it as xmen. Or sell it and put the money into fixing up my other mame machine.
-
BTW, the power supply problem might be the power switch rather than the power supply.
-
How would i be able to diagnose the problem? Trial and error? BTW i Qbert, i noticed you have used joysticks and buttons for sale, what items do you have?
-
$800 is wayyyyy too much, even if it works.
I got my 4p dedicated Xmen fully working for $250. It has some slight burn in on the monitor, so if the monitor is in great shape, maybe I'd pay $300-350 if I REALLY wanted the machine.
-
Peanut, PM sent about buttons and joysticks, as posting here would be off topic.
-
Alright im offering him $200 about the xmen. Qbert i sent you a Pm.
-
Anyone capable of knowing the board is good and the PS is bad is capable of fixing the machine.
I am always really wary of high dollar games that "just have a bad power supply".
-
Agreed, I see that a LOT.
"Oh, yeah, the game is good, but the power supply is dead"
Be wary of that, that's the typical answer that actually means they never looked into it.
-
I don't think that game would be worth $800 if it were still in the factory shipping crate. $200 is more than I'd be willing to pay for it if it isn't working. I'd go maybe $100. Like Chad & Paige said, sounds like the guy really doesn't even know what's wrong with it and is only guessing.
