i've posted this in the other section by mistake.
can anyone tell me the correct settings for power strip so that mame will run ok on my arcade monitor?
-
First of all, what kind of video card do you have?
-
I might as well throw in a couple of questions here for anyone who has used Powerstrip.
-
I think game-specific resolutions are going to be next to impossible. Just find one resolution you can run your monitor at correctly and just stretch everything to it.
Powerstrip uses application profiles to designate resolutions and such. After you build a profile for a particular application, Powerstrip will automatically apply it when that executable is run, guaranteeing that it'll be run properly. However, you're probably just going to want a static profile to run everything in. Running Windows on an arcade monitor without an ArcadeVGA is complicated enough without having to deal with multiple resolutions.

got powerstrip running and xp displays fine on the arcade monitor - however any game i fire up in mame the display is no good at all - you can't see anything but lines >:(
-
Sounds like your MAME settings are overriding your Powerstrip settings.
-
forget powerstrip - i installed advancemame and ran the config program with that. dead easy and had arcade games running on the arcade monitor within minutes.

I'm pretty sure you can set up Power Strip to change resolutions upon application launch. Only thing is, it will be one resolution setting for anything you run in Mame. So, essentially, you'll run your Windows in one res and Mame in another.
