Title: Bazaar monitor problem
Post by: thebestofsteve2 on June 22, 2005, 01:56:26 pm
Hi. I have a working 19'' wells gardner monitor that works fine (other than needing a cap kit because it is scrambled 1/2 inch on the edge).

The problem is that when I have the game facing one way, the colors are fine, but when the game is turned 90 degrees, the colors on half the screen get washed out. Blue turns to purple etc.

This happens when I rotate the game when it is on. It also happens if I shut the game off, rotate it, then turn the game back on.

The degausing coil is plugged in.

Any ideas?

Are you sure the de-gaussing coil is working?

And when you say "rotate 90 degrees", I'm assumiong you mean on a horizontal and not a vertical axis, right?

And when you're cutting power to the game, does that mean you're completely cutting power to the monitor, too?

Natural occurance due to the Earth's magnetic fields. You'll need to manually degauss the monitor with an external (handheld) degaussing coil when that happens.
