Title: FS: Oscar 4-way restrictor plate (SOLD!)
Post by: jcroach on June 22, 2005, 10:02:50 am
I was finally able to track down a Wico 4-way, so I don't have a need for my Oscar Controls 4-way restrictor plate.

I didn't mean it quite like that. I didn't mean copy that one. Someone put alot of time and effort into designing it, and would probably prefer that it not be duplicated. I just meant you could design your own.

It was Oscar and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind... But it will take a while before you can actually ask since hes out of town/country right now on buisness.

But I don't believe he was interested in making them anymore.  Lots of people asked... and he didn't jump.  So I'm sure if you asked him, he would probably let you produce some...

but you could design your own really easy.  And heck, if you made some that went on the underside of a Happs super, Comp, Ultimate and Wico...  One that moves / slides like the ones you find on ebay... You could probably sell a bunch.

I remember back in the day I wanted to make a set for myself based on his design, and he wasn't to happy about the idea. Of course, he was still making them. I dropped it quick. It may be a different story now that he's not making them anymore, but I'd still ask.

He has them in a "REST IN PEACE" section on his website under Products No Longer Made.  I got the impression he has NO PLANS to ever make any more.

Heck, with a steady hand you could cut a restrictor directly into a wooden control panel.

that would throw the plexi artwork into a tailspn though...

Plexi artwork?

If you have Lexan over everything (but probably not plexi), you could cut your restrictor into that That would leave the CP and all artwork intact.

Heck, with a steady hand you could cut a restrictor directly into a wooden control panel.

That'd work fine if you only wanted to use your joystick in 4-way, 2-way or 4-way diagonal.  The point of the restrictor plates is that you can switch them out at will to play different types of games...

I have a whole set I will sell.  I think it is the base plate, 4 way and the qbert diagonal.  I'll have to dig them out of a box to check.

Aha, finally got around to digging them up.  It is the base plate, a 4 way, a diagonal and a 2 way (all three restrictors).  Conseit68 has dibs and Armax is second so if neither of them want the set then it's up for grabs again.
