I used to have (and still think I do burried in a box somewhere) a book that I think was titled "How To Win At Video Games". It's a paperback book with a black cover and a picture of someone playing video games. I'll check tonight when I get home from work and see if I still have it so I can give you more info if you want.

HA!  I should have that one somewhere too...I remember having it as a kid...it's probably next to my "How to Solve the Rubik's Cube" book, in a box at my parents house...I'm sure I had a couple more...

jcroach has some GREAT suggestions above... go with them.

I want to highly recommend "The Ultimate History of Video Games: From Pong to Pokemon--The Story Behind the Craze That Touched Our Lives and Changed the World"

It isn't as in-depth as some gaming books I've read, and it's a bit dated now as far as "current generation" stuff goes, but it is an excellent read.  You hear the story from the people involved, and its very well laid out.

I also used the pop method.

After popping mine and re-assembling it wrongly, I gave it to a guy at school who could "solve" the cube while you waited. It would take him less than 5 minutes.

He got like 30 seconds into mine and handed it back saying it had been changed.
