I got my two Happ Perfect360 joysticks wired up last night.  One of them works perfectly.  On the other one, the RIGHT direction does not work.

I have already tested the wire and grounded it directly to the Minipac Ground and it works.  I have verified that the DC voltage going to the base is 4.9V.  I measured the DC voltage from the GROUND on the P360 base to each connector for each direction.  At rest, the DC voltage is like 4.2 V.  When you activate the joystick (push it one direction) the voltage drops to 0 at that connector and the joystick registers a move.  This occurs on 3 directions, but not the 4th.  Voltage never drops.

Does this mean that one of the sensors is bad?  Anyone have this problem or know of the solution?

It doesn't sound good.  It's quite possible that one of the sensors died.

By any chance, did you connect or disconnect any wires to the P360 while there was power going to it?  This seems to be a bad thing for the sensors in general, based on my experience with the 49-ways.

In any case, it may be a simple repair, and Happ may be able to sell you a replacement.

I found and fixed the problem.  For anyone in the future doing a search on Perfect 360 - P360 - joystick problems, here is the solution:

I took out the 4 silver screws on the bottom that hold the electronic assembly to the base.  I inspected the 8 sensors on the PCB and found that one sensor was bent back so that it was facing up instead of out towards the shaft.  I simply bent the sensor back to where it was facing the shaft, and voila! instantly working P360 joystick.

These are nice joysticks.

These are nice joysticks.

If you like them now, wait till you try one with a SlikStik replacement handle...
