i was just looking at the pinouts for a jamma edge connector and on my jamma edge connector there is nothing connected to the Red Green and Blue connectors.
is this normal?
-
That depends... is it working? ;)
Then what's going out to the monitor?
-
Name of game?
Dedicated or conversion?
Make of cabinet?
Make & model of monitor?
Was it working before?
-
yep all colours on screen are fine. the game's Zero Wing and the cabinet is a generic Video Master cab.
I hope everything is ok coz i've just ordered a jpac and arcade vga card.
-
by the way the game board does say jamma on it
-
presumably it must be wired up correctly (to the jamma standard) if it's working properly?
i'll have to have a nother look at it tonight and take a photo if neccessary. i dont see how it could work if it's not wired up right
-
Why not follow the video connector wires from the monitor back to the board?
-
i'm going to. what if they connect somewhere different on the jamma connector? :o :o

That's highly unlikely. It would defeat the purpose of being a JAMMA game.
This might sound like a dumb quesiton, but... are you sure you're looking at the right side of the edge connector? After all, there's a component side and a solder side. If it's not labeled on the harness, you can tell by the "key". The key is the plastic piece on the harness that only let's you install it one way. Are you sure it's not just wired fine and you just have everything flip-flopped in your head?

i can confirm the wires ARE connected to the correct video inputs. I was obviously looking/counting wrong last night. ::)
i open myself up now for some p1sstaking.. ;D

Just found out that Doh! is in the Oxford English Dictionary (OED)!
Quote:
"Expressing frustration at the realization that things have turned out badly or not as planned, or that one has just said or done something foolish. Also (usually mildly derogative): implying that another person has said or done something foolish.
:end quote
Yep, about sums it up really ;)
