Title: Just sent apple a question about iroms.
Post by: Edgedamage on June 20, 2005, 07:47:31 am
After visiting Apple's site and seeing most products/services are called Ithis or Ithat.
They might not think to kindly of someone else using a name that can be confused with their products.

Apple does not have exclusive rights to the "I" labeling.  Multiple companies came out with different branding during the Internet bubble to cash in on the craze.

Check out:

The Amex has I-Shares trading on various securities.

There are others that have come and gone while some still remain.  Apple may be the most successful with the "I" label but that does not mean that anyone else can't use it.

also note iRiver.  Yeah, alot of companies use the "i" in front.  Not an apple specific thing.
