Title: DA RULZ AS PETA SEES 'EM

Testing goes on all over, people have offered this defense for their actions before, but until one of PETA's people are caught doing something despicable, this isn't something humans should be allowing to go on?

"But she told a news conference there was no indication of "pain or suffering" among the 18 animals that police in Ahoskie, N.C., found in a shopping center garbage bin or the 13 found in a van registered to PETA."

Another example of the dope missing the greater and more important point.  In this report, a spokesperson says the organization euthanizes animals by lethal injection, which it considers more humane than shooting or gassing them in groups, as some counties do.

Newkirk seems to think that animals thrown in a dumpster by people specifically sent to transport animals to be authanized "more humanely" is ok because there's no indication of pain or suffering?  Why even bother sending someone to pick them up then?

What a wacked-out sense of right/wrong.  Her back must hurt from doing the gymnastics required to make something right in her world.

I actually e-mailed these people after I found out my neighbor threw away their two dead cats last week.  I didn't realize the neighbors had already e-mailed PETA themselves and were only following instructions ::)

They were probably lovers and the sooner they got rid of the animals the sooner the nookie started.

Nobody was watching or caring what they did and when that happends peoples true ideas and demons come to life.

I am missing the greater point too.  I love animals and hate PETA so I may be easily swayed.  What is the ethical oposition to dumpster disposal?   If it is a health hazzard than that is something else. And I'll admit it is quite crude.  But, personally I don't care what happens to my body when I am dead.  For me the problem is animals being shot instead of injected.  And the absence of strict laws to keep these animals from being born in the first place.  And the lack of empathy from people in general toward animals.  Testing....

Oh!  I didn't read closely.  I thought that the people had tossed live animals in the dumpster to die.  I just moved on since I can't stand Peta anyway -- giving leftists a bad name by acting like extreme rightists...

But, yeah, what's cruel about about putting their bodies in the dumpster?  My gut feeling tells me that putting large numbers of dead animal bodies in the dumpster is a bad idea, but not because it's cruel to the animals...

Hard to tell from the story.  Says they were supposed to transport the animals from NC to Norfolk to be euthanised, but the animals never got there.  Says no one in Norfolk noticed.  Says the animals were lethally injected.  Says they were charged with illegal disposal of dead animals, but not animal cruelty.

I'd never do it because it's a health thing, and I'd like to think I'd treat the death of my pets as something more than having to get the trash out to the curb on pick-up day (even though these animals aren't a pet, per se)

Animals (strays) that are hungry enough can and will go through the trash for food.  If your animal died from a transmittable disease, simply throwing a dead animal away can further the problem, perhaps turning it into something of a mini-epidemic in your area.

Animals usually are incinerated to avoid this problem.

And as for those two being lovers.....C'MON!  That dude must have some pretty low standards for THAT chick to be the one he's willing to dip his pen in the company inkwell for!  She looks like a candidate for a good frying-panning - for improvements!  Mebbe if shmokes tells us he doesn't think she's hot for a lefty that'll certify it, otherwise, that chick is gonna get knocked up and turn out the next Helen Thomas!

Ya gotta give the girl credit hangin' with the lefties (read: hotties) looking like that.  It must take a great deal of gumption to keep her from defecting to the right where she would surely take the crown for Miss Conservative Hottie USA.  I mean, hey, look at the current conservative pin-up girl causing college republicans around the country (and Fredster) to go through multiple pairs of socks per day (and I chose a flattering picture in an attempt at even-handedness and charitability, lmao).

Never in my entire life would I have ever expected ANYONE to attribute the phrase "hotties" to Helen Thomas  :-X

Shmokes, I think I can't respect you anymore!  ;)

I just don't think you're considering the whole package.
