Greeting all a fellow enthusiast here soon to start my first project and my main concern at the moment is the controls. Now I'm mainly a fighter fan but also love playing the classics and after reading that competition sticks are terrible in 4 way movement I (despite the price) decided to get P360s. Now I want to hear opinions from fighting game fans (or others) how the looser and much nicer looking stainless steel sticks measure up against your standard Happ model. Also think anyone can go into detail about the comfort of each stick? I'm thinking the "tear drop" style is a lot friendlier to fighters than the pear style.
Thanks in advance all, love this place by the way.

I bought my P360's straight from Happ, and I really liked them.
Then I ordered replacement stainless balltop sticks from SlikStik. Now I can't imagine using them any other way.
I'm mainly into the classics and can't say much about how they feel with fighters. However, I can tell you that the P360 feels basically perfect with the SlikStik handle on it -- great balance of heft and responsiveness.

I have always preferred a Bat Handle joystick for fighters, but it all depends on what you are used to using really.

CJK - how do you feel about the 360's as far as 4-way games?

I'm using them for 4-way games right now, as I haven't yet built my full panel (which is going to have a Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga reunion stick for 4-way games). So far, so good. I like the handling, and I don't usually hit diagonals when I don't want to, but there was a noticeable improvement when I changed the stock handles for the SlikStik ones.

I have 3 P360's on my cab and I think they are great in 8-way mode, but are very disappointing in 4-way mode. I find it is better to set the actuator to 8-way and let MAME handle the 4-way conversion. Games like Pacman and Rally-X are great using the P360's, but only when the actuators are set to 8-way. You can get unwanted moves in these games if you operate the sticks in 4-way. One of these days, I am going to make some restrictor plates for my P360's to run proper 4-way.
