im making a two person cp and so far i was using6 buttons for each player 1 player start button for both, and 2 insert coin buttons, but i see other peoples cps and they have 2 more? for what?
oh i just saw someones labeled cp are they for pause and quit game?
if so how do i put pause and quit game on mine if im using a I-PAC2?
-
Yes, the extra two buttons are typically for pause and escape. But you don't have to have them on the cp - you can hide them. You should have rec'd some instructions w/ your IPAC that gives you a key configuration. Each input has a default keystroke. Use them accordingly.
-
Default for MAME with an IPAC would be P1 Start + P2 Start for ESC, P1 Start + P1 joystick down for Pause. I like the shifted commands much better than a bunch of admin buttons, since you wouldn't find them on a real arcade machine, but YMMV.

wow that is cool is it easy to set up your I-PAC to do that?
-
Should be set up to do that out of the box.
Here we go... Default mappings for an I-PAC:

but then how do you set it up so u can pause the game like hold 1 playerstart and press down on the joystick, i dont se that on the chart
-
You use the IPAC programming utility that comes with the IPAC.
That chart is a custom one made by grueinthebox (great screen name, BTW!), but it shows the default mappings nicely.
For more information on the IPAC, check out the Ultimarc site -- the answers to most of the questions you've been asking in various threads are actually contained in the information there.

ok thanks i will

Just for the record, I didn't make the graphic - I think it came from the website in the lower right corner of the image... I've had it kicking around so long, I can't be sure. Don't want to take credit for others' work - I just scaled it down and am passing it along.
But you shouldn't have to use the programming utility to set up the pause and whatnot - if you look at the chart there, pause ('P') is in blue under the P1 down... Things in blue are accessed by using that control while holding the P1 start key.
-
True -- the pause function is set up the way you describe as the default on the IPAC, so you don't need the programming utility unless you want to change something. But who doesn't want to change something? :)
